Since 1st September, 2013 the ACT Government's First Home Owners Grant will provide elegible first home buyers with $12,500 to assist in buying a new house or a substantially renovated property to the value of $750,000. A "substantially renovated" property is regarded as:

• a home that has not been previously occupied or sold as a place of residence; or
• a substantially renovated home that, as renovated, has not been previously occupied or sold as a place of residence; or
• a property which is subject to an "off the plan" purchase agreement.
